About the Sanctuary
The sanctuary covers 82.8 acres and is leased from the Army Corps of Engineers. TAS has worked to restore the sanctuary to native grasses and plants. Mature oak/hickory woods are found on the sanctuary. It also contains shoreline of Lake Perry. We are dedicated to preserving the area for the benefit of native plants, wildlife, and birders. TAS maintains mowed trails and controls invasive plants like sericea lespedeza. All members are invited to use the sanctuary at any time.
Please stay on the main gravel road outside the gate and walk in.
