About the Annual Dinner

Every April, TAS holds its Annual Dinner.  The members of TAS enjoy dinner, a photo contest, and a special speaker.

This will include election of Board of Directors and TAS Officers for 2011-12. Nominees:

Program 

Tim Barksdale
“The Last Dance of the Prairie Chicken”
 
Tim is Producer and Managing Member of BIRDMAN PRODUCTIONS INC. He is a research associate of Cornell’s Lab of Ornithology and he has served as principle cameraman on many expeditions to places like Hawaii, Arizona, Florida, Alaska, and Cuba. He has filmed more than 1300 species including over 700 of North America’s birds. His images have appeared on ABC, CBS, TNT, PBS, Discovery, National Geographic, Animal Planet and Paramount Productions. Topeka Audubon Society welcomes this preeminent speaker to our annual meeting. 
 

Dinner Menu

The dinner is a buffet and includes the following.
  • Blended House Greens & Crisp Iceberg Lettuce with Ranch or Raspberry Vinaigrette dressing
  • Chicken Breast Supreme
  • Tenderloin Tips & Mushrooms
  • Scalloped Potatoes
  • Wild Rice Pilaf
  • Southern Style Green Beans
  • Glazed Baby Carrots
  • Assorted Fruit Pies 
  • Warm Rolls & Butter
  • Freshly Brewed Coffee & Iced Tea

Photo Contest Fundraiser

Bring no more than 5 of your best photos to the annual dinner. We will put them on display with a bowl in front. People may vote for their favorite photo by putting cash in the bowl. At the end of the evening we will see which photo was the crowd favorite by counting the cash. Feel free to swing the voting toward your favorite by stuffing the bowl with as much cash as you wish.
This contest is for fun, and for fundraising. Photographers will keep their photos and only gain bragging rights if they win the contest. All proceeds go to Topeka Audubon Society operating expenses.

Cost: $25.00 per person 
Deadline to register is March 30
