About County Lists

Many people keep a list of the birds they have observed in each county.  Each county has something unique about its environment, whether it be a large grassland, an extensive wetland, or a mix of different habitats.  Few birders have visited all 105 Kansas counties, and even fewer still keep lists of the birds they find in each county.  Below is a list of TAS members' county records as reported in the Kansas Checklist Project (Kansas Checklist Project).  To be included on the list, members need to observe at least 75 species in a county.
