About the North American Migration Count
The North American Migration Count is held every May. Teams comb Shawnee County recording every bird they see. This is a great count to see migratory birds such as as warblers. Many migratory birds pass through Shawnee County on the way to their breeding grounds in the north. The results of the count help us know the abundance and distribution of migratory birds. Contact Jim Malcom at iambirding@prodigy.net if you would like to participate. See the calendar for the exact date.
